The Naval War College database lists the following regarding the status of the Croatan CVE 25 :
In reserve at Norfolk VA, May 1946 - June 1958, she was assigned to MSTS in non-commissioned status with civilian crew 16 June 1958 and continued to serve through 1961. Under NASA control 1964-65.
