Years Served: May 1961 – Aug 1964…Hello Shipmates – I left the Jenkins in 1964 and went to the USS Hamner (DD-718) in San Diego. I got out in 1966 after 11 years and came back to Texas. I retired from Lockheed-Martin in 1997

Years Served: 1944-1946…I was proud to serve with the crew of the USS Jenkins….and would do it again if given the chance!

Served on the Jenkins 1960-1962, went thru FRAM II, West Pac and JTF8 (operation Dominic). From there to B school at T I.

I’m the son of John “Bill” Sylvester who served on the Jenkins from 1964-66. He was an FT. Just seeing if any of his shipmates remember him

I remember refueling in a typhoon in west pac. Was scary time. 2nd class B.M. Bell was very competent leader
