Years Served: 1968…I joined the crew of the Eppy off the coast of Vietnam in early 1968, as a member of AS division. I was a STG 3rd class. I left the Eppy in October 1968 to be discharged from the Navy. Love to hear from old shipmates. I’ve got film of our ship firing while in the Bay down south. The film has been digitized. I now live in southern California.

Years Served: 1971 USNR Cruise, Seattle Washinton…When I first stepped aboard this Reserve Tin Can in March 1971 the Quarter Deck Piped and announced, Epperson Arriving. Little did I know they were not talking about me but about the Captian who was coming aboard with our orders for the cruise. I had a wonderful two weeks serving aboard the namesake of my third cousin who died saving his fellow Marines from a live granade in WW ll. The USS Epperson served long and proud. My Naval career was enhanced by my pride in this ship effectionatly called Eppy just as I was called from Boot Camp all the way to OCS. Anchors Away My Boys.
