One of the high points of my life was being on her crew.
Years Served: 1952-1956 served on Fred T. 1955-1956 as EM2…I have been in touch with Red Taisey over the last few years. Red was a MM2 and we did a lot of liberty together along with Paul Phillippe (Who unfortunately passed away in New Jersey a number of years ago.) Red is in the hospital in Syracuse, NY having a full knee operation. He said if this one turns out good, he is going to have the other one fixed. Being Catholic, he blames the problems with his knees from praying for all the people he knew in the Navy.
I was a crew of this ship when we went to Vietman in 1965.
