I served on the USS Blandy from 1973 to 1976 and was assigned to the forward fire room. Lots of memories compiled in a short period of time. To Curtis L Everett I do remember you inviting me to your home and home town which I’ll never forget, the BFP I tried to forget.

Came to USS Blandy from USS Barry in 1975 was a BT. I stayed in Norfolk on the soap team when the ship went to the yard in Boston. I was lucky by what I saw when I got there. I was a part of the # 1 fire room when the main feed pump ran away. If you were on board you know what I mean. I left Blandy in 1977 before the Med cruise. BTs hit me up.

My father Raymond P Worsham served on the Blandy from 1957 till 1959. He was a Chief Bosun’s Mate (BMCA) at the time. Later to become a Master Chief before retirment. He was on the crew when the unknowns were transported from Europe to Hampton Va. and afterward up the Potomac to the US Naval Gun Factory.
