| I was an RM, Radioman onboard the Sterett from Sep 81 - May 85. Our Capt's names were Sullivan (Capt. Blood) and Capt. McCoy (Chicken of the Sea). Went through Shellback in the Indian Ocean onboard Sterett, rescued Vietnamese refugees, searched for the Korean Airliner 007 that was shot down by the Soviets in Sept. 1983 and went through a lot of Typhoons. Sterett was a Tin Can in a Tin Can navy. I was proud to serve on her too. USS Sterett CG-31 ... Dauntless. Looking for all former ship mates and all the people from the old Radio Gang. - Flash :-) |
