  • Kerry Ingram says...

We are trying to find men who served in the US Navy from 1968 thru 1972 on the USS America and or the USS ARD Seven…

We need info on the equipment that was aboard the ships during these times…

    specific info follows:

Navy personnel records indicate Mr. Roland Kerry Ingram originally enlisted in the U.S. Navy on 25 June

1968. He completed basic training at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center and was promoted to

Fireman Apprentice (FA) on 22 August 1968. Following leave, Mr. Ingram reported aboard USS

AMERICA (CVA 66) on 14 September 1968. He served as a mess-man, assisting the ship’s cooks on

AMERICA, from 24 September until 17 December 1968. Mr. Ingram was promoted to Fireman (FN) on

28 February 1969 while serving aboard AMERICA. He completed a Navy training course for Boilerman,

Third and Second Class (BT 3&2). Mr. Ingram was detached from AMERICA on 28 April 1971 and

reported aboard USS ARD SEVEN as a Fireman on 2 June 1971. He was detached from ARD SEVEN on 31

March 1972 and released from active duty on 12 April 1972.

Any info that can be given such as the names of the type of boiler that was used on the ship is the most important thing. If anyone knew of any of the firemen aboard the ship!
