I was the leading Radioman RM-1, 63-64.5! When the Marshall was selected to go to home port in rainy State Washington to train reservist, something I had done for 2.5 years on my earliest ship, USS Kenneth M Willett DE354, I swapped with an RM1 on the
USS Hull DD-945 and went to z Vietnam in 65!

I was a terrible sailor, but turned out sober and OK
Years Served: ‘63-’64…I was a deck-ape. I was transfered off at Bremerton to the SheltonDD790.
Years Served: 3 Feb ’60-May ’63…Served on Marshall as a Radioman for over three years. One of the best duty stations I had in my 26 year career. Have many fond memories of this old lady…….
Years Served: 69-70…I was one of the last crew members to serve on board. i still remember the day the boiler blew up.like to hear from some old shipmates. i retire from the army in 1994.
Years Served: 1961 to 1965…I was a pretty sorry sailor, but managed to straighten (and sober) myself up later on. I remember moving from San Diego to Washington State to become a reserve training ship. I also have a very old newspaper artical about the fire we were envolved in on the Seatle ship yards. Now I am in Atlanta, getting ready to retire in three or four years.
Years Served: 1962 – 1964…I served as an ET and have a lot of good memories.
Years Served: 1960-63…Would like to hear from any shipmates who remember me (I was ET1/ETC aboard Marshall). Retired from Navy in 1983, but still remember the Marshall fondly. Retired from civilian career in 1999, now living in Seattle area.
Years Served: 1957-1959…Served as RM2 aboard the Marshall for 2 years. Relieved a RMC and that’s the way it stood for 2 years. Best years of my career. Retired in 1974 as RMCM.

Al Myers here, Sonarman on the USS Marshall 1951-1954,
What great memories, still in touch with a couple of shipmates>
Learned a lot about life, it all helped in my future. We had a great crew,
three deployments to the Korea, we did well.
