I served on the USS Wedderburn (DD-684) from 1967 to 1969. I was in the Supply Division as a Storekeeper. Many fond memories of the ship and crew. Unfortunately the ship was aging and had numerous operational problems during my two Westpac tours. I have been a member of the Wedderburn Association and attended a renunion in San Diego a few years ago.

I sefved in R divison upon my reporting aboard Wedderburn in August 1966 during the overhaul at Long Beach Navy Yard and served until She was decommissioned in 1969. i haeld the rates of FR through SFP2 snd went on to return as HTC in 1986 but do miss my first command. I served on Wedderburn from February 1965 until February 1967 at which time I was transferred to TF 116 River Division 53 at My Tho, South Vietnam. I was part of the OI Division aboard the ship. Denman Kessle was one of my senior petty officers.
