Years Served: 1954-1955…I was aboard when the English rammed the Lynn and we lost our bow. LANTFLEX 55. It was on Huntley Brinkley that night and that’s how my wife found out. We backed hundreds of miles into Norfolk. Believe it or not the Navy had a spare Sumner Class bow waiting for us. I was staff Operations Officer for DESDIV22. The English was the flagship. The Commodore was Clifford Foster. He gave my wife away at the alter at the Norfolk Naval Chapel as her father could not attend the wedding.
