Years Served: SEPT. 1961—SEPT. 1963…Missed the reunion in Branson, will catch next one. Served in E- gang, with Chief Koski, Earl Fink, Lon Skutt ,Bob Elder, Bob Johnson, Chuck Wolfe, and Dan Weiser. Sorry to hear Earl and Dan have passed on . FairWinds and Following Seas. Pete McElroy EM1 Usnr (Ret)
Years Served: …My Uncle who was my Father’s brother served on the DeHaven and was killed after an attack in the south Pacific where it sank. His name was Cato Hans Swalling. Thank you for this site!
Years Served: Son Of Ferman D. Fiandt served wwII…My Father served on her during WWII. Fireman. I would listen to him talk of the days on the ship, the encounters with the enemy , and the guys on board her. He has sinced past, and my Mother signed on in his place for the crew members list. She has had a stroke and is unable to particapate any longer. I, as first son of my Father, would like to continue on in his memory, as a subsitue member of the crew
Years Served: 1972…The Dehaven was the last Destoryer I served on before I got out. She a great ship with a long career. Although, I only spent a short time aboard, I have some great memories.
Years Served: 26…I served on the Dehaven as a reservist in the seventy’s and was on board when the Dehaven fired the last full salvo of her five inch guns. I believe it was the last full salvo ever fired by a WW11 Destroyer.
