I served on the Sampson from Feb 69 to Aug 71, first on the deck force then as a Weapons Yeoman under LT. Miller. I shared a duplex with Bob Dupler, Greg Severson and Steve (Andy) Anderson all STG’s in the 3rd Division. Unfortunately Bob and Greg have passed away. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Steve Anderson or LT Jim Rivers I sure would like to hear from you. I know Steve was from New York but there are probably a couple thousand Steve Anderson’s in New York. I am also friends on FB with Don Baker, STG1.

69-71 One of my sadist days was when I watched the pull out for a med cruse and I was not on board. I was shortly to be discharged.
Don’t go back to Charleston to visit the old base. It’s all gone!
I was in 2nd. Div. from 70-72. Then I was in the Coastal River Div. 21 on the Great Lakes for a year before I got into the Bldg. Trades.
I was the ships barber from 1961 to 1963. Plank owner lookin forward to the next reunion.
Served 86-90. Greatest friends and co-workers ever. Very good memories
Served 83 – 85 before going to dive school. Great times on the med cruise and going through the Panama Canal. Did a short stint in B Div before mess cooking and going to R Div. Still working for the Navy at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. I remember Capt. JJ Negin kept us haze grey and underway. World’s Finest Destroyer.
