Joined the Adams out of boot camp in 1970. After a few months on the mess deck I struck for postal clerk to relieve the one getting out of the Navy. Left the Adams for the Jonas Ingram in 71.
Crew member from April 71 until December 74. E-5 Sonar Tech. Acquired my nickname “Mobil” on board the CFA. The most fun 2 days of my life were crossing the Equator in 1973 on our way to the middle east. Although I wouldn’t have gone into the military had I not been drafted into the Army and joined the Navy to avoid Vietnam, I really enjoyed my time on board and the great group of guys with whom I served.

Hello, fellow “Charlie Deuce” sailors. I hope there will be a great gathering of shipmates when USS Charles F. Adams gets to Jacksonville.
Best regards to all,
