Years Served: 1967-1968…Last CO – but had the good fortune to make the final deployment to WestPAc from July 67-Jan 68 and return to Pearl via Sydney and Hobart Tasmania. Lots of time on Market Time and Taiwan Patrol, but ended as station ship Hong Kong so the trip was a definite success. Our softball team was undefeated in all the games we played in Kaohsiung…and losers had to buy the beer. (Thanks!)

I was aboard from the years 1962-1966 as a Yeoman. I worked in the ship’s office. I didn’t care much for setting on station in the North Pacific, which we were looking for down planes connected to the DEW line, but I liked the liberties at Pearl Harbor, Japan, Hong Kong, Midway Island, Guam, and the Philippines. I was high-lined in December 1966 to the USS AJAX.
