I was a crewmember of the newer USS Miller (FF-1091)

The newer USS Miller (FF-1091) was named for Third Class Cook Doris

Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor. FF-1091, a Knox-class escort/frigate was originally commissioned commissioned in June 1973 as DE-1091; reclassified as a frigate and redesignated FF-1091 in July 1975; served in the US Atlantic Fleet with deployments to the Mediterranean, the Persian Gulf, and Caribbean; transferred to the Naval Reserve in 1982, and decommissioned in 1991..
