I was the Independent Duty Corpsman (IDC) on the ship in the mid 90’s. I replaced HMC Glendenning. This was, by far my most rewarding experience in the Navy and I had some great assignments. We were the first Navy War Ship to go into Russia after the Cold War. The Secretary of the Navy met us in St. Petersburg Russia, and he was the first person to sigh my Charge Book after finding out I had just made Chief Petty Officer. The memories on this ship will forever be engrained in my mind. Thanks to all who served on FFG-13!
