In commemoration of William Edward Schaiberger, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, let us remember his unwavering dedication to his country, his pursuit of knowledge, and his steadfast faith. May his memory endure as a beacon of inspiration and may his soul find eternal peace.

My Father (Richard Montjoy III) served on the Keyes from around 1962 -1964. He passed away in 1977 from cancer but I remember the James E. Keyes emblem on some pictures in his office. He had great stories from his time in the Navy. If anyone remembers my father, I’d love to hear from them. Bless you all for serving.

I served aboard the USS Kyes from 1968 through 1970. I have so many wonderful memories of my time aboard the Jumping Jimmy. I also have some moments that will haunt me forever. I was aboard the ship when the USS Frank E. Evan’s was cut in half. That dawn morning has be with me ever since. I would love to hear from any Weapons Division shipmates. I am also trying to find Mike Stabler who was an IC man. I know several of my shipmates are gone now but I sure would like to hear from any that are still with us.
