Years Served: 1964-1966…great ship great engineroom crew

Years Served: 1961-jan-65…i joined the navy reserve in 1957 in Salem ore. while still in high school at 17 yrs old. went active in June ’59 after graduation. my first ship assignment in ’59, was the U.S.S. LOS ANGLES CA135 assigned to the deck crew. then transferred to regular navy in 1961 and then assigned to the U.S.S. TOWERS DDG-9 . served on board as a gmmsn/gmm3 under chief Bochart on the tartar missile crew. (i was the one to put the first woody woodpecker caricature on the launcher to keep the bugs out). in Jan ’65, i have a lot of memories of this great ship and the crew i served with.i still have crews book ,patches and photos, etc. chief bochart also helped get me assigned to C school at great lakes,ill for terrier mk 10 mod 0 school. after 38 wks school (oct. ’65) i was assigned to bath iron works, bath maine to my new ship being built , the U.S.S. WAINWRIGHT DLG-28. i served on board her from Oct 1965-summer 1968 which included tours off north Vietnam. discharged from service in Oct 1968. i welcome all replies from all my crew mates who remember me. jerry sealey gmm-1

Years Served: 4…To the Men of the Hancock during the Korean years, those were some of the best times of my life.

Years Served: 1969 – 1972…She was a great ship! My experience onboard probably was one of the big reasons I decided to make the Navy my career.

Years Served: 4…served from 1976 to 1980. I was mess specialist. I’d like to hear all the rave revues of my navy chow!
