Hi, I thought I posted already but I’ll try again here now that I have more info. My dad served on this ship from 1965-1969 and someone told me to post V2 division on the starboard catapult. Hope that helps. His name was Dan Pfaff and I’d love to connect with anyone who knew him or has photos, as he passed away 10 years ago on the 4th of July in 2013. He was from Toledo, Ohio, and had moved to Florida. You can find me on Facebook as Amy Pfaff Rose or email me amyrosejax@gmail.com I actually now live in Florida, right near Mayport, in Atlantic Beach.

Amy Pfaff Rose

Served aboard Rusty Rosie 74-75
Since then always wondered what became of my friends?
Lost touch with everyone after the BIG storm that tore us a new one.
Remember me? O E div. S.I.N.S. tech.
Feel free to email me your memories of the storm or others from OE div.
Ever wish you could go back?

1971-73. someone ask ware is rosie now?? was in bayonne-new jersey its last voyage. my dissapointment in the navy is FDR junked as the greatest president of all time probably but they make tourist ships saved like INTREPID an YORKTOWN names of no one?? heres a joke for ya’s, the carrier FORD. didn’t he just get the job without even a vote?? what did he ever do?? we forgot about him long ago but his carrier goes on.

so what does being a land-lover get us?? nothing. except traffic we hate, people not keepin social disstance and right in your face in check-outs. shopping for food then slaving to cook it instead of just standing in a chow-hall line. can’t beat carrier chefs, 4-meals daily and you don’t have to wash dishes n clean up, roving poker games to increase your winnings if bored, x-movies, real movies, booze stashed from every port, you fly n I’ll buy always, see you at the movies, bring a bottle. so how did we all give up paradise in every port for this? so how many of us just seaman will ever have the funds to go back don’t ya wanna?

Servied aboard Rosie as a EM3 in E division’s flight deck and elevavator electrical shop under the fantail between mid 1959 to Aprial 1962, would enjoy hearing from anyone who servied or knew me during that time to reflect and reminisce on all the fine memories we shared together; like the many pinochle card games and laughs shared together 24/7. 😎
From the exspearance and training affordaded to me during my service aboard FDR, it allowed me to move forward into the electrical construction bussiness field; and now enjoy a great retirement life in SW Florida.
