Years Served: 1948 1952…it was so long ago

Years Served: Feb 1972 – Feb 1976…Sailor of the Month Award May 1974. Two Med cruses. Great tour of Duty!

Years Served: Two Tours…I am entering this guestbook entry on behalf of my father, J.P. Wheeler. My Dad lived in North Carolina during his tours on the Franklin. His accounts tell us that he was onboard both times the Franklin was bombed. He now lives in Lake Mary, Florida, 20 miles north of Orlando. I would appreciate any contacts to relay to my Dad. Years Served: 1970-1973…First reported aboard the Rusty Roosie on April 10, 1970 in Palma. Finished that cruise and 2 more plus all the shake downs and carrier quals inbetween. Served with VF-84 all that time. Shop was next to the after brow for the liberty lauches. Had a lot of interesting times aboard. Still run across ship mates now and then.

Years Served: 1956-57…Served aboard CV-42 as member of VA-175. Suez Crisis/Hungarian revolution, cold weather cruise.
