Years Served: 1964 – 1966…Served with VF-11, the Red Rippers
Years Served: 1972-1974…5th Division. Many fond memories of Spain. I heard there was a reunion coming up, does anyone have any information on that?
Years Served: 1966-69…Served a west pack in the Gulf of tonkin 1966-67 and a med cruise 1967-68 rosey roads In the yards at Norfolk 1969 and discharged in Mayport, Fla ABH 3 V-I division and elevator operator flight deck crew blushirt
Years Served: 1975-1978…Served in the ships Aviation Supply Div. aft hanger deck supply cage. I was proud to serve on OLE ROSEY . I met a lot of good men during my tour and have a lot of good memories .Crashing in the Straights gave me a scare but we still proved that we were Numero Uno .
Years Served: Nov. 1957 to May 1959…Enjoyed a couple of great years with some swell guys in OP Photo Div. Still in contact with some but have been unable to attend the reunions. The Rosie remains a wonderful memory for me. Those of you who would like to rekindle some of those experiences, may wish to visit the Midway, now a memorial tied up in San Diego, Ca. I was fortunate to be able to visit with my friend Larry Blumenthal back in 2004. It was quite an experience. I had forgotten just how big the Midway class was, even though small in comparison to the new nukes. Best wishes to you all. Tim
