Tokin gulf cruise 68-69. We went into dry dock Hunters Point S.F. to have boilers redone and ship reframed. After dry dock we we for a test run after passing the Golden Gate Bridge. Went to 33 knots and the forward boiler room exploded. Not sure if anyone was killed. After repairs we got underway and all was smooth sailing until we got back to San Diego. I was an Electricians Mate 68-70. I really enjoyed the ports we went into. I would do it all over again.

Glad she finally found a good home. “Big Stick” and the Navy got a real black eye after the Turret #2 exosplion. This is a good first step in restoring some honor to this fine dreadnought’s good name. Fear God and Dreadnought!
