Years Served: 1975 – 1979…I started out as a Boatswain’s Mate and got to stand quarterdeck watches with RMCS Richardson(who taught me a lot of things Thanks Chief) and I decided to become a Radioman. I went before the striker selection board and became a Radioman. I went on one Westpac during my four years onboard the Hammering Hank. I made RM2 before leaving the Navy in 79.

my late father served on that ship; a dear friend of his was among the casualties in June 1968. He was a radar man, I believe. He still had shrapnel in his knee decades after.
