Years Served: 1970-1972…I served on this ship until right before it was turned over to Ven. It was sure hard to see foreign sailor taking over one of our warships. ENC Neal J. Butler, USN (Retired)

Years Served: 1947-1956…I served aboard the USS Beatty from the USS Sarsfield when the Korean war began and the Beatty was moored in Newport,R.I.. I was a QM2 at that time and was transferred to the USS Bristol when both ships were moored at the Panama Canal enroute to Korea because the Bristol needed a QM to be assistant navigator. I was swapped for a SM1. So my time on the Beatty was very short & about a month’s time.

Years Served: N/A…I myself did not serve in the armed forces but my dad, Eldon W. Muhr Sr. did. He was a boilerman aboard the Beatty. I believe from 56 to 58. My uncle, Eugene Blow served on her the same time. They talked about the good times and the card games played. Dad passed away back in 2002. He had wanted to get to the reunions but his health held him back.
