Was on the Beatty late 1962-1966 electrician mate
Came aboard in the Portsmouth shipyard in September 1965.Chief McCorkel said he always wanted a Snip named Snipes I spent 2 years in the Foward fire room stood Top Watch the last year made 2nd class before I left the ship Sept.1 1967.
Great group of guys on board “B” division best of the best
looking for anyone who might remember my dad, BM3 Armand Weiss. He was aboard the Beatty during Korea..is there a reunion anywhere that I can meet men who served on the same ship?
I was on the Beatty 756 for 6 years. Went from seaman the 1st Class Boilerman.
I joined the reserves in high school 1956. Re-enlisted on the Beatty in 1962.
We where the first ship through the Sues cannel, I was in 54 countries and left the Navy in November 1968.
Was on the Beatty right out of Boot Camp Nov.1968 to June 1972 when the Beatty was decommissioned and turned over to the Venezuela Navy in Charleston S.C. Made BM3 in late 1970 .
