Seved on the Beatty from 1961-1963,
Radioman 3rd Class. Email if you remember me. Bearkat42@bellsouth.net
Hey fellow shipmates..I am looking for anyone who would remember me. I was on the USS Beatty, USS Gearing, USS Cascade, and the USS McCloy during 1966 to 1969. I worked the Steam Engines and Boilers. Have not been able to find anyone, of course my memory is not so good these days..Would love to here from anyone who might remember me. God Bless all of You. Jerome (Jerry) Baxter, from Iowa now living in Topeka, Ks
My gathers ship was the USS BEATTY DD-640 SUNK IN 1943.YOU GOT A PLAQUE FOR THE ORIGINAL BEATTY?
Hey Philip Lefebure, I served Dec 59 to July 61 as a ET, I repaired the transmitters and receivers for the radio room.
I don’t remember you, the names that come to mind were Robert Kennedy and Larry Morrison. I think the Cheif’s name was Morales.
My email is coaster@losalamos.com.
I was on the Beatty from about July 1967 to August 1968…when I got off active duty in Tampa, Fla. I made SK1 but never got it..i guess because I got off active duty..they “lost” the paper work! I had charge of the commissary(Jack o’ the Dust) under Chief Oiler who went back to Norfolk and left me in charge. Tampa was a paid vacation for me with women galore and I met my future wife in a bar there on the water (The Old Fort). Her uncle owned the bar. It was sad to hear that we gave this ship to Veniswala.
