Years Served: 1962 to 1964…Served in the forword fire room. I would like to hear from you all.

Years Served: 1958-1961…I joined the crew of the BARTON in early 1958 upon completion of schooling at the Great Lakes Training Center.We shipped out very shortly to the Med.& Mid East where things were heating up.As a FTSN I was assigned to the Port MK 63 GFCS.As time went on I worked my way up to FT2-P1.We had a OUTSTANDING Fire Control. gang &Sonar team. Late in 1961 I was transfered to the ENGLISH the day we shipped out on the 1961 Med Cruise.Upon completion of my extended tour of active duty I returned to colorado, married & raised four children. We live on the old family homstead,raising Rodeo bucking stock.The time I served on the BARTON will be with me always.NO better shipmates.I would like to hear from my shipmates.

Years Served: 1964 – 2week Reservist cruise…Dont remember much due to lightning hitting me in 1970 . I do remember it was in spring , and we were in one heck of a storm at sea . Also remember being docked next to a submarine all covered by yellow tarps , maybe a boomer they didn’t want seen ?

Served on the Barton 62 to 64, caught her in Gitmo in 62, did two med cruises and the North Atlantic cruise. Was in Finland when VP Linden Johnson visited. 1st division Deck Ape. Played in the ships band. They called me Ski love to hear from any old shipmates. Had some good times.
