Years Served: 1961-1963…I just last year found an old buddy (Glen Ferrell EM3) who I had not seen in over 45 yrs. I live in Clearwater, Fl and he lives in Cocoa ,Fl about 2 hrs apart. I am still trying to find Michael Tex Mahan who was in the IC gang with me.

Years Served: 1956 1958…I started out in the 1st division and then transferred to the Galley. I was on board when the Hank was the last US ship to sail through the Suez Canal before the Egyptians kicked the Brits out. I remember there was a jeep (one of ours) following us up the canal toward the Med with a 20 mm, mounted on the back, pointing at us. We were told not to take pictures. After I left the black shoe Navy, I joined the Sea Bees and retired from the Reserves with 23 years.

Years Served: 1970- 72…Served onboard as a HTC, Select Reserve Crew, ResDesRon 30, Philadelphia, Pa from 1970 to July 1, 1972 when Hank, at that time, was decommissioned and turned over to the Argentina Navy.
